Firm History
The firm was founded in 1984 by Pennsylvania trial lawyer Victor Pribanic with the goal of becoming one of the premier plaintiff’s personal injury and civil trial practice firms in the northeast region of the United States.
The firm was originally located in White Oak, Pennsylvania, out of a commitment to roots and upbringing but quickly expanded to downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The firm more recently expanded to the north of Pittsburgh, establishing an office in Brookville, PA.
As the firm expanded, it acquired and renovated numerous buildings adjacent to the firm’s original White Oak offices. This expansion included the construction of the firm’s own courtroom from which mock trials are conducted. Not surprisingly, the White Oak offices are now known as “the campus”.
Initially, from the firm’s Pittsburgh based locations, the firm serviced the Pittsburgh area, representing individuals and their families in personal injury and wrongful death cases resulting from a variety of negligent conduct, including for example medical malpractice, aviation tragedies, automobile accidents and product liability. The firm also developed a criminal defense practice born from Victor Pribanic’s former experience as an assistant district attorney.
As the firm’s reputation grew, it began to take on increasingly more complex cases and those with national implications. While the firm still concentrates its practice in Pittsburgh, the firm’s lawyers have tried cases from coast to coast in the United States, with recent trials in California and New York as examples. The firm’s cases and results have been reported on in numerous local and national newspapers and magazines.
The firm’s lawyers are trial and appellate advocates for those who have been harmed, often grievously, by the negligence, legal fault or wrongful conduct of others. The firm’s lawyers are passionate about obtaining the most favorable results possible for their clients. Results have followed the passion. In the firm’s twenty-five year history, it has attained numerous verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million or more for its clients. The firm’s lawyers have generated results that have included not only compensatory damages, but also punitive damages designed to deter future wrongful conduct. In so doing, the firm has also identified many instances of litigation misconduct, including the destruction of documents and evidence.
The firm’s lawyers have worked diligently and tirelessly to improve the lives of their clients, those that truly need representation and that feel overwhelmed and alone. The firm has taken on and defeated many of the largest institutions in the country, from hospitals, to insurance companies to securities companies and has dedicated itself to leveling the playing field.
