Tomislav Dimov, a student of Prof. Biljana Gavrilska, Prof. Anatoliy Kiselev and Prof. Marine Iashvilly, graduated with Honors and worked towards a Ph.D. at the Russian Academy of Music – Gnesins, in Moscow, Russia.
Born in Skopje in the Republic of Macedonia, Dimov began performing in earnest at age 14 and appeared many times as a soloist with the Macedonian National Philharmonic Orchestra, playing violin concertos of Lalo, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, and won First Prizes at national competitions.
He moved to the United States in 1997.
His playing is described as embodying “…deep stylistic understanding, emotional performance, instrumental and artistic culture…” by the Conservatory Professors in Moscow, “…confirmed superiority…” by Macedonian Radio and “…blazing virtuosity…” by The Wall Street Journal and Macedonian Press.
Mr. Dimov has performed as a soloist with Macedonian Philharmonic, Dniepropetrovsk Philharmonic Orchestra, International Federation of Young Musicians (FIJM) Chamber Orchestra, the Marienbad Symphony Orchestra, Butler County Symphony, held concert tours in USA, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Canada and France.
Through the years, he has been a member of many orchestras, among others the Czech Radio Symphony, the Macedonian Philharmonic and the Grand Canary Philharmonic Orchestra.
Currently Concertmaster of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, Tomislav Dimov is also founder, Conductor and Artistic Director of Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Soloists Orchestra.
As a busy teacher, Mr. Dimov serves on the faculty of St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
From 2003 till 2005, he was leading the String Program for the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts.
As of 2006 he is on faculty of the Beverly Hills International Music Festival in California.
